Press coverage of the book launch

"Business with Latin America" website ( 26 August 2005)

I decided to create a website instead of periodic updating of my book on Busines withLlatin America. The advantage is that the website could be updated anytime easily by myself.

The website was launched on 28 August 2005 at the F Bar near Qutub Minar, New Delhi. The event was cohosted by CII and Eximbank. Minister of State for External Affairs Rao Inderjit Singh was the chief guest. A live band from Cuba "waikiki" performed salsa music and dance accompanied by the audience.

Market study of Mercosul - June 1997

I made a study of the markets of Brazil, Argentina, Urguay and Paraguay ( also associate members Chile and Bolivia) and India's business with the Group. I had given suggestions to the Indian government and business for promotion of exports and investment in the region. This was the first ever study made by any Indian on Mercosul.

Launching of the website businesswithlatinamerica.com at F Bar in New Delhi on 26 August 2005

The event was cosponsored by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Export Import bank of India ( Eximbank) . The chief guest was Rao Inderjit Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs. The Salsa party which followed the launch was attended by 280 people. A cuban Salsa band " Waikiki" played live salsa music.

I decided to create this website since it is easier and faster to update. Doing it with a book takes time. Since 2005, I have been updating this website myself.

Business Guides

I published the first guide for business with Brazil in 1997 when I was in Sao Paulo. I published updated editions in 1998, 99 and 2000. In my posting in Venezuela I published guide for business with Venezuela in 2001, 2002 and 2003. In Buenos Aires I published guides for business with Argentina, uruguay and paraguay in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. I had distributed these to Indian business chambers and export promotion councils.

I had also put them in the websites of the embassies and updated them almost every week.

The business guides were small booklets which business people could carry conveniently. They had information on the macroeconomic situation, industry, trade, business opportunities and tips for business visitors.

My business guide was sent by commerce ministry to other embassies advising them to bring out such useful publications. The one I published from sao paulo in 1997 was the first ever by any Indian embassy.
